In his meeting with Myasnikovich, Rouhani underlined the need for plans to facilitate banking interaction between Tehran and Minsk as a prerequisite of stronger trade ties.
Highlighting the suitable grounds for industrial cooperation between the two countries, Rouhani said the first step to broaden economic ties between Iran and Belarus is to establish proper banking ties.
Myasnikovich, for his part, expressed hope the two countries may promote cooperation in various fields, as in the oil industry, auto-making, and trade exchange.
Meanwhile, Rouhani met with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Sunday.
Rouhani underlined that the cultural and historical commonalities between Iran and Armenia can help taking positive and effective steps to the interest of the two nations and all nations of the region.
Emphasizing the importance of security, stability and the danger of terrorism in the region, Rouhani warned over the growing number of terrorists in the region following their complete defeat in Syria and Iraq.
“All countries must remain vigilant in the face of the spread of terrorism in the region, particularly in the Caucasus and Central Asia,” he added.
Referring to Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and insisting on a political solution to settle the issue, he said “the Islamic Republic of Iran highly regards complete security around its borders, and we hope that with the efforts of the two neighboring countries of Armenia And Azerbaijan, we could see a peaceful end to the issue, and we believe that if the two sides hold serious determination to resolve the matter, there would be good solutions available.”
Sargsyan, for his part, said Iran and Armenia have the potential to bolster cooperation in economic, energy, trade and transportation sectors.
He also underlined the need for peaceful resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and welcomed Iran’s positive role over the issue.
